My 5th Ipod broke couple months ago and I have not gotten a new one, nor have I tried to exchange it at the apple store due to the fact that I have to back up the music off my ipod. I know, I didn’t back up any of my music and just had it on my ipod thinking after spending $400 bucks, the ipod will last me forever. So what have I been doing? I got me a magnavox portable radio where I listen to Miss Wendy half of the day and been listening to music on this AWESOME site! HypeM is so frickin awesome. I just click play and all the music that people uploaded on the site just starts streaming into my headphones. If I don’t like the song, I just click foward. If I love the song, I get to highlight the Heart icon to keep in my library. If I hear some awesome song that I have NO clue who it’s by, all the information is listed on hypem!!!!! Its cool cuz I get to listen to bands that I never knew existed. Go check it out ladies! I swear its awesome.
So, there’s this nutty Japanese guy who makes intricate instruments out of vegetables and then plays sometimes decent-sounding songs. Um. It’s amazing. This one might be the best, even though it’s way out of season.
For some reason I’ve been on a Ryan Adams binge for the past few days. Actually, I just kinda re-discovered his album Heartbreaker and pretty much still think it’s fucking genius.
I know, I know… all the pitchfork-reading-nerds will tell you how he totally jumped the shark when he left his band Whiskeytown and didn’t stop releasing one crappy album after the other.
Personally, since I couldn’t care less about what the nerds say 1- because I’m rebellious like that, and 2- because I, like Olivia before me, have a crush on every single boy in the universe (especially if involves blue eyes, acoustic guitars and bs about girls being mean to them) I think everyone needs to buy this CD.
Besides, I ran into him in Soho once, and we totally had “a moment”. I thought about stalking following him around Manhattan for a sec. but then opted to text Ashley/my BFF from Seattle instead, who immidiately proceeded to have a heart attack next to her phone.
Anyway, THAT, and Mary saw Justin Timberlake at some bar yesterday. Did you guys ever run into any of your celeb crushes ever? If so, what was your reaction?
Pagoda is playing at the Glasslands (289 Kent Avenue) tonight in Williamsburg at 9. I didn’t really listen to the band, but here’s their myspace. I’m only mentioning it because I’m totally in love with Michael Pitt. I know, I know, I’m in love with every boy…but this time it’s forever.
Here’s Scarjo’s new music video: Falling Down I think she sounds pretty good…but mostly I’m fascinated of the video because it looks like they’re using watercolors as makeup and I kinda wish she was singing original music cause I’d love to know what she thinks about. Plus She and Him is amazing. Go Zooey. Also, I still haven’t figured out what her tattoo is. Anyone know?
