I love you Pizza

Gawd I love Pizza. And Carmine’s is my super favorite these days. It’s right by the Graham L stop. They have been closed for the past few weeks. I was beginning to lose hope. They are open again yay. Go eat pizza there. MMm favorite.

The Secret Life of Sofia

This is The Secret Life of Sofia, they make REALLY beautiful music and are playing tomorrow night at Union Pool at 8pm as the Jezebel Music featured artist for August! More importantly, I’ve known/had a crush on Kyle Wilson (far left) since I was sixteen years old and his Santa Fe band Pintsize played at Warehouse 21, the local teen arts center where I volunteered. I’ve gone to a couple Secret Life of Sofia shows and their meticulous, maudlin, melodic rock is glorious. Check them out if you have a chance!

We are more afraid of you… then you are of US!

I live in this sorta loft building in Bushwick BK. Like none of my roommates have jobs. They sit around making music all day. I never see any of them do anything that anyone would pay them money to do. The tenants of the other lofts seem to do similar. There are dumb flyers for art shows and poetry readings. Some of them refer to their apartments with names that a non-resident might think are actual bars. They show up at our door handing me dumb art filled pieces of paper inviting me to the Peach Pit 2B, Punky’s Place 3D, or the Max 4A. When they are forced to speak to me, they awkwardly look at the ground. They sorta pull their messenger backs towards their chests, afraid i might try to steal their sketchbook.

Girls gone wild: BK edition

So it’s hot here. Well, It’s sticky and humid and 70 degrees out. Luckily my coworkers have embraced and accepted our cultural differences. They fake nod when I complain to be dying from said heat. When I say Cobrasnake they patiently correct me “It’s called Last Night’s Party.” I was convinced for a solid month that Brooklyn was in New Jersey, but Olivia and Mary simply shook their heads in love, held me gently, and said, “Baby girl, Brooklyn is in New York.”

Here’s some Hollywood ish for you

I am coming off what I would refer to as a Missbehave bender/banger depending on how to look at it. I spent today lying out/ binge drinking with two of June’s Clutch mag supergals none other that “Radio” Rose cleavage boobs more cleavage Garcia and a lil “Cubannie Links” Annie Basulto. Me, Olivia, and Sally just spent the day staring at them starstruck and quoting their Clutch mag interviews. I don’t think either of them remember our names. Brooklyn is the new Manhattan. Bushwick is the new Williamsburg. Broadway is the new Bedford Ave.

Real World Brooklyn

The Real World’s 21st season will be set in Brooklyn…please put them in Coney Island! Apparently Williamsburg is the likely destination though. People are pissed. I don’t think this will really make a difference in anything…oh more out-of-towners trying to be famous? I think the last season I watched was Seattle anyways. Oops.

OMG Walgreens steps it up!

Fuck Sonic and their Mac n Cheese bites. Dwight Yoakam and his deep fried foods found the Bushwick Walgreens. They each cost a dollar. Yum Mac and Cheesy things.
