This just in: New Crystal Castles Video!

November 10th, 2008 by Emilia

My darling friend Pinky (aka Backles, as I like to mispronounce his last name) over a Street Carnage dot com,  just tipped me on his latest and most ambitious project to date (sort of).  The video for  “Vanished”, which he directed, and also happens to be one of my favorites songs by Brooklyn’s Toronto’s musical duo Crystal Castles.

Check it out, and let him know how much you love it here. Or go over to Street Carnage and leave a comment there. Where you can also read (Missbehave’s own) Lesley Arfin’s Advise Column: “Ask Barf”, on how to be a skinny bitch off drugs.

Total win-win situation. Non?

Campy Horror Movies FTW!

November 7th, 2008 by erika the commenter

I stumbled upon Side FX while searching the 1.99 VHS sale section at Amoeba Records. It is about some medieval drug that gives you craze orgasms but then makes you a vampire for 24 hours. And past Missbehave cover girl Amber Heard is in it. I took it home and watched it. It was so bad I almost got angry at the movie. There was terrible acting and the blood looked like red water. But Amber was good. And there was an omniscient homeless guy who communicated through collage notes. So I guess I liked it.

Anybody seen this gem? Actually since no one probably has, a better question would be, what is your favorite campy horror movie?

Who wants to go to Paris and do this dance routine with me?

October 23rd, 2008 by Emilia

I’ll be Audrey Hepburn, you guys can be the other two.

How amazing is the movie Funny Face? I’m totally obsessed with it, even though I usually despise musicals. The few times someone dragged me to see a show on Broadway, I fell asleep 5 min into it.
Anyway, the reason why I’m bringing this up is because I happen to have just discovered the uber awesomeness that is Netflix, and I’m currently on a huge Classics binge. Which other movies would you guys recommend to me? Anything from Film Noir to French New Wave to whatever Wesley Snipes is working on.

Also, how retarded is the fact that you need to own a PC to download movies directly?

Let’s chat.

The Best Song In A Movie

October 22nd, 2008 by erika the commenter

Sometimes the best part of a movie is the music. It totally sets the tone for a scene. For me, the best song in a movie would have to be “Bittersweet Symphony” at the end of Cruel Intentions. It’s perfect. Also, retardedly, it made me cry. If I could pick a song for the movie of my life, it would be “Apartment Story” by the National. It would play right at the end, before it faded out and the credits ran. I totally think I should be that person who decides what song goes where in a movie, but no one’s hired me yet, so they’re obvi missing out.

What about you guys? What’s your favorite song in a movie?

Role Models is Hilarious

October 20th, 2008 by Olivia

Generally, I only get invited to the most bootsy movie premieres/screenings ever (re: Oh, I So Brought It On 3). But this one time, I got invited to a screening of Role Models! But the publicist also gave me the wrong address and I ended up running 15 blocks and missing the first 20 minutes. Regardless, I started laughing before I even sat down! It’s really, actually, legitimately funny! Not just because Paul Rudd is like the best actor ever, but also because Christopher Mintz-Plasse is funny as fuck as a Live Action Role Player. I laughed, I think I cried, and I really wanted to go to a Ren Fair afterwards. Not sure why. Go see it, it comes out November 7th!

Sex Drive…tomorrow!!!

October 16th, 2008 by Olivia

Um okay. If you’ve been paying attention to me at all (hi sarah), you might know that i’m totally in love with Clark Duke. Sally would like you to believe he loves me back, but I’m afraid I cannot confirm this to be true. Regardless, he is way dreamier in real life. Since we live in different states, I must consoal myself with weekly Greek episodes and now Sex Drive. I can combine my two favorite things: movie theater popcorn and the Duke. You guys can have Seth Green and Donut Dude. It looks really funny and I hear everyone gets naked! Who’s with me?!

The trailer for the Biggie movie did it for me

October 1st, 2008 by Sarah Morrison

I wasn’t into the idea of this Biggie movie coming out period. Then was even less into it when a bunch of virtually unknown actors were cast for the film. The casting bit rubbed me the wrong way. I figured it was gonna be cheesy and more Coco Chanel Lifetime movie than the big deal huge release that it should be. But, the trailer did it for me. I got the chills. Maybe I am a little excited. Cross your fingers and hope this doesn’t blow BIG TIME.
