I feel like Princess Fiona from Shrek

December 3rd, 2008 by Sarah Morrison

Due to some adverse reaction to the bipolar medicine I have been taking, I have developed these big hurt-y red bumps. Because of my awesome luck with about everything, the worst of them are on my face. They are sorta like really bad zits, but five times the size and throbbing with pain. They seem to take a week to go down to socially acceptable size that could even pass them off as zits. The latest one is right above my eye resulting in my right eye now being almost swolen shut.  I haven’t left the house in days. I keep hoping I am going to wake up looking sorta normal, but no such luck.  And I really wish I had something to eat other than hot chocolate and oatmeal.

I can only handle watching kids movies cause everything hurts too much to think. There does appears to be a third Shrek movie, which I was unaware existed. I am going to go try to watch that and take a nap again.

And now I have to stop taking my medicine obviously, which I was feeling better on finally.

Awesome.

man this really sucks, especially if you have to go off the meds that were starting to make you feel better. but hey i kinda like when youre stuck at home feeling miserable because you post more blogs. selfish, maybe. whatever
    :]

Stay on your meds unless it’s that lithium rash(I believe that’s the med where you can get a serious life threatening rash) in which case you should go the er ASAP. I would see your doctor before going off anything, its ussually better to suppliant with something to fight the side effect rather than go off it. If you can’t see the psych asap go the pharmacy and see what they recommend in the meantime.
Also have you tried cold compresses?

i went to the doctors they are having me ween off. its from lamictal and thats the shit if you get rashes you have to stop.

  4. Sarah Morrison Says:

cause its like rare side effect is honestly “death from rash.” i told you i was on that stuff. but its funny cause i was totally fine all this time.

DUDE i got the same exact thing from lamictal only i got the rash on my arms and legs and it got reallly hot and i could not stop scratching it.
    definitely get off it…
im sorry you were feeling better and now have to try something new…
    i feel you.
i hope you find wsomething else that helps.

i am off meds completely and for some reason i feel fine. all i take now for is clonopin for anxiety.

i dunno. i dont want to take any of the other ones. lamictal was the best of the bunch. the other ones all seem to cause weight gain and hair loss. i am thinking of trying a all natural whatever diet and not being on stuff after this. i doubt ill be able to do that. i dont know what my plan is. i guess ill get thru this and see.

yeah thats been going on for a while like my legs and arms just itch all over. but its not a visible rash. and other people on the mesageboards talked about how itching was a harmless common annoying sie effect. so i have been living with that. but this is not right.

  7. Sarah Morrison Says:

these things dont itch. they kill. they hurt so bad its hard to sleep. but i seem a little better today. im praying for just a little better so i can go do stuff tomorrow.

damn girl, that suck, I’ve actually avoided it due to horror stories. If you need anyone to go out and get your food or meds don’t hesitate to ask me, it’s no problem I’m in the hood.
Also I have a few good books you should try reading.
Feel better asap Lady, I know this is hell.

honestly i think all the medicines i have taken for bipolar have either made me worse- or completely numb– and/or fat.

and believe me once you gain the weight it isnt very easy to get it off….

    i hope you feel better
