Deep thoughts from Zooey Deschanel

September 23rd, 2008 by Sarah Morrison

Anthem scientifically explores whether Zooey Deschanel is the most boring person alive. It is a fun scientific journey. I highly recommend it. It is both educational and really funny.

good question. i just assumed she had suffered some degree of brain damage as a child

  2. Lochnessa Says:

Boring? maybe…but she seems kinda normal compared to all the other ‘celebs’ who do or say stuff just to get their pics in mags.

  3. Emilia Says:

I like her. At least she actually DOES something (actress, singer) unlike all those other IT girls that are famous just by getting their pic taken.

AND she used to date Jason Schwartzman. Case closed

  4. hairandeyes Says:

i like her too. i don’t care if she’s boring, she seems precious, talented and a real human being

  5. noriahjaaay Says:

    she looks like Katy Perry.
…or Katy Perry looks like her.

  6. erika Says:

Katy Perry looks like her. I think Zooey is amazing and genuinely talented. She could teach some of these wannabe celebutantes a thing or two.

  7. SammaRay Says:

She’s pretty and a great, quirky actress, but her personality is bland. Like oatmeal. Plain oatmeal.

i’m not really sure how people talk in LA and new york, but i mean that seems like regular run of the mill stuff people say. because shes an actress she somehow needs to say amazing interesting things? will that make her a better actress or a better “celebrity”. She really just sounds like shes not trying hard to impress anyone, and hey, maybe sometimes those interviewers are asking really dumb questions. so she didnt practice being witty and entertaining infront of a mirror pre-interview, so what?
A good interviewer can make anyone interesting, a shitty interviewer will ask things like “do you knit?” and “do you think about things, sometimes?”

I’m SO glad someone other than me can see through the “quirky” smokescreen. I’m not a fan of Chloe Sevigny by any stretch, but I prefer her and her ill fitting clothes to Zooey. I think the only reason she’s famous is due to her name. I HATED her vapid character in “Hitchhiker’s Guide”, and find her akin to watching grass grow.

i find it really humorous that people complain about the outlandishness of celebutants and then balk at the idea of a more laid back celebrity…and shes def got the talent to be in the public eye, so i dont get why shes getting bashed for being genuine and, i dont know, not crazy?

also, its kinda lame to hate her for a character she played…that was pdotsdot a pretty awesome depiction of a character who really isnt all that vapid…

    i love zooey

she is a talented actress, a sweet little singer and she seems like a normal, nice person who hasn’t been greatly changed by hollywood.

    Is that bad?

  13. mariahscary Says:

i always confuse here with the girl that gets raped in kids.

she was awful in the happening.

  14. Rachel Radness! Says:

she sounds like she’s just talking off the top of her head.

the only distinction i see from other “celebraties” is that she doesn’t exude either sarcasm or overconfidence. which is a good thing.

i think she’s cute. some people are one-on-one types of people who need to warm up to a person to connect. not everyone is megan effin fox with her concocted wannabe angelina stories about dating strippers & having the sex drive of a teenage boy.
