The New Me!

I decided to kick off my new ways like any self respecting self-helper…by cleaning! Your closet is essentially a euphemism for the status of you current situation; Mess=Emotional Mess, Clean=Everything is gonna be OK. So, I made the 5 piles (picked this trick up from the DIY network) but I do my own variation: stuff I love but never wear, stuff I look really cute in, stuff I may give to by BFF one day if she’s good, crap from my purses (which act not unlike Manhattan Mini Storage for small random items) and Jeans which I own exactly 24 pairs. The jeans are sub divided into 3 categories: fat jeans, jeans I can wear when I lose that 3-6 lbs and just right. Over the 3 hours it took to get my life back to “Everything is going to be OK” status I found $34.25 (mostly in ones and change), an amazing hot pink sequin tube dress that is the essence of all that is holy, 10 hair ribbons, a hand full of hair clips and hair bands (always scavenging for those) and a book on my idol Martha Stewart that I started reading 2 months ago. I feel better already. Cleaning is the new Xanax…not!

    i totally agree–cleaning makes me feel good. Especially when I am mad about something or at someone. Plus, you get to burn calories. I wish they can find a cure for laziness.

    my idea of cleaning is stuffing all that shit under or on my bed. its not the most comfortable way to sleep, but it only takes like 20 seconds

    wow, that looks fantastic. great job! yeah, having a clean and organized space is awesome. meh it just sucks that i’m a a bit lazy, and a total pack rat. i’m working on it, though :)

    I cleaned my room yesterday! It was awesome and I gave a whole bunch of stuff to my BFF because I’m nice like that haha.

    By the way, your closet and everything in it seems amazing!!
