I just spent hours reading a 12 year-olds blog

This is fascinating and alarming all at once. I am speechless. I really am. I have no idea what I should type next.

Weird.

She’s an amazing girl, she seems like she’s got it
so sorted. You know she’s never going to get
corrupted by all the shit things about puberty,
and she WILL be that cute forever and evs.
    hooray!

  2. jme Says:

Wow. Why couldn’t I be that cool when I was 12? I can’t even believe how savvy this girl is.

  3. Olivia Says:

geez, i dont think i was that canny when i was 12. although i remember singing “Heartbreak Hotel” by Whitney, Faith nd Kelly Price, to my “boyfriend”, this kid named Jovan who decided to break up with me by kissing my “best friend”… in the lunchroom. lol

yesss this blog will keep me entertained for the next few hours!

  6. eLusive. Says:

  7. monique_the_freak Says:

oh my god i found this blog like a month ago and did the same thing…while the living room was filled with my friends drinking gabbing and all around being social i was instead reading for hours on end a twelve year olds blog…partially envious and partially skeptical…either way she is the cutest damned thing this side of the mississip

  8. gfunnymoneybk Says:

    she fucking rules

  9. ari Says:

kids are peaking way too early. by 15 she’ll be interning for michael kors and that will be the end of it. its ok. im 18, i think i’m going to peak by 19 and a half. i’ve accepted it.

  10. Marilyn Monroebot. Says:

she is honestly cooler than me. now. this is sad. she has been bookmarked.

  11. SUPA KID Says:

“I’m currently in a hotel room with my sisters while my parents are getting drunk at a wedding we weren’t invited to, but that’s ok.”
    she’ll b hot stuff… i feel old

  12. Dutchi Says:

Who has this much swagg at 12?!?!?!?!?!

This is like an amazing testiment to evolution right here. I am truly impressed and depressed at the same time as I sit back and think about my akward, pudgy phase as a bitterly confused 12 year old.
I still cant seem to pick up my jaw from the desk let alone stop reading this stuff.

    Thanks for the head up!

  13. erika Says:

This is crazy…like how easily anybody can be famous on the internet…it’s really awesome that a 12 yr old has this much style and can be blogging about 7th grade and yet college grads are reading it…yeah, the internet is amazing.

When I was twelve, I was matching my knee high socks to my shirts and scrunchies. :(

  14. melsnell Says:

is she anna wintors long lost daughter??? seriously? im waiting for her to be some crazy genius designer or queen of fashion media.

  15. ray Says:

“These are all pretty repetitive, like the pencil skirt, and most are pretty simple. But I am fond of the all black with the gold chains (thrifted for $1 each. Eat my cheap ass dust, American Apparel!)”

    fucking crazy funny

cant imagine if i had a digi and comp w high speed at 12…….

  16. Jessica Says:

Maybe I peaked at 12 too which is why I’m so uncool now. lolz

  17. ladyfingerz Says:

Woooah. Haha, she’s only 2 to 3 years younger than me, but still she’s way cooler than I was. No fair no fair
Definitely spending a day reading all of her shit

  18. mrbehave Says:

kids are the new adults. duh! that was in the works a long time ago. Get with it!

  19. Moth Says:

    fake.

  20. mrbehave Says:

    blog envy.

  21. shepdini Says:

yeah no way in hell a 12-year-old is writing it, even if she’s like advanced friends school, reading only teen vogue and nabokov, and learned to type 89 words per minute in kindergarten. it is bs. she is cute and stylish and oh p.s. i am way more interested in stylish kids when they are not wearing dior, but yeah, no. wacktarded.

  22. shepdini Says:

also 12-year-olds who listen to wilco’s yankee hotel foxtrot = actually 34 year old dudes.

  23. nessalicious Says:

I love her, and also hate her for being so bloody amazing.

  24. van G Says:

Tavi’s blog is, quite simply, super-cali-fragalistic-expiali-dope-shit. I found her through that NY Times Magazine article on teen fashion blogs and scoped her site out. I got to admit, my bullshit detector lit up when she started dropping references to YSL bowl cuts (do 12-year-olds do that? Is that like a thing?). But I dug a little deeper and, yep! She’s 12!

I’m with ya’ll. Feeling mighty uncool. Age was meant to bring stylisitic advantages. Now we don’t have that! Ha ha.

  25. Sugashea Says:

I have a strong feeling someone in her family is already in the fashion industry. She seems way too educated on fashion for a 12yr old. Also with how people are today, I would not be suprised if she was older or it was not her at all. Yeah I realise I am being a skeptic, but damn this is really good for a 12 yr old! Is this possible?

Either way I commend her on style and writing skills. It is truely an amazing site.

  26. Sugashea Says:

Ok I read through this site again, and I swear this has to be fake. This is some grown woman who spent her life studing fashion. How can a 12 yr old speak of 20s and 40s fashion? And who the hell is she talking to about this? Other kids her age would not even care. So either again someone in her family is prepping her or they are writing it themselves. This writing style and voice is not of a 12yr old. I want to hear her discuss fashion on radion or tv before i can seriously believe this.

  27. van G Says:

I’m hearing you Sugashea. I think we’ve all got so media savvy that we start to question whether the simplest things are legit nowadays. If someone name drops a brand in a movie/TV show/article, I automatically get all like: “Damn - that product placement was blatant” - like I can’t believe that brand landed in that space independently. I hate that I’m questioning the validity this bloggers age! But she is so uber-cool that I can’t help but feel there is a slight JT Leroy vibe going on.

Fully with you though: whatever her age - the page is compelling and entertaining - and that makes it fun. And everyone needs fun!

  28. ninja Says:

I hope my daughter is as cool as her. Mimi already loves Yelle and thinks that Elmo sucks. She is 3 1/2. I am SO geeky compared to her!

  29. Louis XVI Says:

    I wish I didnt have blog A.D.D.

  30. SkittlesFerrari Says:

Is it weird that I wanna be friends with her and she’s 12 years younger than me?
