This week in text messages

Since I have no computer, I have been forced to entertain myself with my Blackberry exclusively. Here are some of my favorite texts of the week.

-Omg Foxy (Brown) is marrying Rick Ross. U have to me my wedding date. This is the best day of my life. Last week I talked to Foxy on the phone and she called me boo. I didn’t think it could get better…then she did it again.

The best blanket ever!!!

It is nearly impossible to sit up with a blanket on and actually do something as simple as read a book, talk on the phone or use a remote without the blanket falling down your shoulders.

Not so with the Slanket! The blanket with sleeves!

The Slanket is a very large, very soft and very cuddly blanket with sleeves making it easier to move about while still being covered and toasty.

The Slanket is made of a thick and warm fleece that feels very soft on the skin.

The Slanket is great on a couch, a chair, in a hammock, on your bed or anywhere else you care to take it.

The Slanket gives you the freedom to do more while being wrapped up in a warm blanket.

Cat Fancy: Why cats are better

This is me and Weetzie Bat, after I released her into the wild…oh and became a pair of men from the 1970’s.

I Went To Portland Oregon!

Here are a few things I learned in Portland…

1. More people have tattoos than don’t.

2. NYC has destroyed all its cool/ seedy/ grimy history.

3. This is the best city to shop for Vintage anything. 

4. There is no “Streetwear” in Portland, Oregon. Everything is dark and punk rock….It was refreshing. 

5. It’s an incredibly annoying city to drive in. Its probably why most people ride bikes or mopeds (yea mopeds!).

6. There’s a million and one cool dive bars…and it appears people drink constantly.

7. People also drink a shit ton of coffee…and they take their coffee verrrry seriously. 

8. The city is very clean, no graffiti…NYC wins on that one.

9. Like the dive bars there are strip clubs everywhere…a lot of times the two are combined, boasting one pole on the bar for the dancers. Legend has it the girls drive around from bar to bar dancing and getting drunk! 

10. Portland is a totally laid back radical city.

Faixfax avenue is…the streetwear capital of the world?

Reserve/Fresh Jive has turned Fairfax avenue into a religious war due to this t-shirt. This is probably been the best account of the protests thus far. Even better than Bricks simple, “Streetwear is over Sarah.” I think Alyx on the ground kicking the Jewish lady may be my favorite part, but I can’t actually decide. A fun fact about this whole debacle: I interviewed for a position at Reserve right before I decided to move out of LA. I am sure Reserve is kicking themselves for not jumpijng on my ish. How entertaining would I have been defending streetwear to news cameras during religious protests?
